The Flappening

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of The Flappening platform, including content displayed on boards, guest messages, and shared access. This AUP supplements our Terms of Service.
1. Content Standards
All content displayed through The Flappening must comply with the following:
1.1 Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to display, transmit, or share content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, or deceptive
- Is defamatory, obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit
- Promotes violence, terrorism, or hatred against individuals or groups
- Harasses, bullies, intimidates, or threatens any person
- Exploits or endangers minors in any way
- Infringes on the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party
- Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Constitutes spam, phishing, or unsolicited advertising
- Impersonates another person or entity
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law
1.2 Content Ratings
The Flappening uses a content rating system (G, PG, R). Users and venue operators are responsible for selecting the appropriate content rating for their environment. R-rated content must not be displayed in environments where minors are present without appropriate access controls enabled.
2. Guest Message Guidelines
When Party/QR mode is enabled, guests may send messages to your board. Board owners are responsible for:
- Choosing the appropriate moderation level (open, moderated, or AI-filtered)
- Monitoring content displayed in public or shared settings
- Disabling guest messaging when appropriate
Guest messages that violate this AUP may be filtered, removed, or reported.
3. Venue Use
Commercial venues using The Flappening (bars, restaurants, offices, etc.) are responsible for:
- Ensuring displayed content is appropriate for their audience and setting
- Complying with local regulations regarding displayed content
- Managing access to board controls
- Content displayed under R-rated widgets in licensed establishments
4. Fair Use of Resources
You agree not to:
- Use the Service in a manner that could disable, overburden, or impair our servers
- Send excessive API requests or attempt to circumvent rate limits
- Use automated tools to interact with the Service beyond intended functionality
- Create multiple free accounts to circumvent tier limitations
5. Enforcement
We reserve the right to:
- Remove or filter content that violates this AUP
- Suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate this AUP
- Report illegal content or activity to appropriate authorities
- Modify this AUP at any time with notice to users
